This 2024, the Christmas decoration of the Andador 20 de Noviembre, in the Center of Zapopan, is inspired by the Talaveras of the world, a tradition that has united families, forged cultures and given identity to so many peoples, not only our Mexican Talavera that we know so well, we can also appreciate some French Talaveras and some Chinese Talaveras, interwoven by more than 1,600 meters of LED lights that lead to a Christmas tree full of colors and memories illuminated by more than 1,200 meters of Christmas lights, and a warm giant nativity scene that wraps with traditional blankets and natural fabrics that family that with enthusiasm knocks on our door every year to remind us of the importance of love.
Talaveras, like Christmas, evoke the beauty of gathering around a table with our entire family.
Did you know that Mexico has 18 designations of origin? Along with famous ones like Tequila from Jalisco, Coffee from Veracruz and Chiapas, Rice from Morelos, and Habanero Chile from Yucatán, we can also mention Talavera Poblana, a renowned Mexican ceramic with predominantly blue and white colors. Its tradition dates back to the 16th century.
The installed Nativity scene is decorated by designer Astrid Cueva. Using clay, moss, calabash, ixtle, blankets, and hay, we create a harmonious and natural Nativity scene. The Christmas tree's Talavera base is hand-painted by artist Beatriz Larios. The giant spheres were handcrafted using the piñata technique. The team was in production for nearly two months to give shape and color to this magical Christmas space.
We invite you to come and enjoy this unique experience! It's a perfect opportunity to share unforgettable moments and soak up the Christmas spirit that surrounds our beloved center. Don't miss it!
